Literacy Classes
Join our quarterly classes in Menlo Park, designed to support early literacy through a multi-modal approach to letter sounds and letter recognition. Reading Specialists, trained in the Wilson Reading System and using Sounds in Motion, will provide personalized, hands-on learning activities based on each child’s needs. There will be classes geared towards students in the Threes, TK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade.
Tutoring
We offer individualized instruction tailored to your child’s needs. Focused on school readiness and early literacy, we use clear and explicit instruction, as well as hands-on learning to build confidence and foundational skills. Whether your child needs support or enrichment, we meet them where they are to help them grow.
Advocacy
As experienced educators and advocates, we help parents navigate the school system to ensure their child gets the support they need to succeed. We offer in-classroom observations to understand your child’s learning environment firsthand and provide clear, actionable feedback.
Whether you need help with IEPs, 504 Plans, or understanding school evaluations, we’ll guide you with expert advice and compassionate support—empowering you to confidently advocate for your child’s unique needs.
Early Screening for Specific Language Disabilities, Including Dyslexia
The Slingerland Screener is an early screening tool used to identify students who may be at risk for reading difficulties, especially those related to phonological processing and decoding.
What the Screener Does
Quickly checks early literacy skills. It looks at basic skills such as letter naming, sound-symbol associations, beginning sounds, blending sounds into words, and segmenting words into sounds.
Identifies risk early. Rather than waiting until a child falls behind, the screener helps teachers catch early signs that a student may struggle with foundational reading skills.
We do not use this tool to diagnose, but to inform the type of instruction.
